In terms of output: the overall aluminum industry output in the first 10 months of 2021 has achieved unexpected growth. Among them, the output of alumina is 65.15 million tons, an increase of 6.6%; the output of electrolytic aluminum is 32.37 million tons, an increase of 6.5%; the output of aluminum is 49.67 million tons. Aluminum prices: broke through the historical high on October 18 and rose to 24,765 yuan/ton; then it fell rapidly again, reaching a minimum of 18,230 yuan/ton on November 19; the overall price fluctuated in a range in late November, with an average monthly price of 19,258 yuan /ton. In terms of the cost of electrolytic aluminum: From January to July 2021, the weighted average full cost of electrolytic aluminum is 13,676 yuan/ton; from August to October, the cost rises rapidly, and it was nearly 20,000 yuan/ton in mid-to-late October; in November, the cost appeared Falling back, the current price has dropped from 19,784 yuan/ton at the beginning of this month to 18,216 yuan/ton.

In terms of import and export: China imported 1.27 million tons of electrolytic aluminum in the first 10 months, a year-on-year increase of 44.5%; exported 4.39 million tons of aluminum products, a year-on-year increase of 16.1%, and has returned to the level before the epidemic; exported 2.35 million tons of aluminum products, a year-on-year increase 18.7%.

In terms of ranking in the global aluminum industry chain: China is currently the world’s largest country in alumina production, electrolytic aluminum production, and aluminum production

In the first three quarters of 2021, China’s cumulative imports of electrolytic aluminum increased by 46% year on year. In 2020, China’s imports of electrolytic aluminum reached 1.062 million tons. In the first three quarters of 2021, China’s accumulated imports of electrolytic aluminum were 1.119 million tons, an increase of 46% year-on-year.

From January to September, global primary aluminum production reached 50.639 million tons. In terms of regions, in September, the output of primary aluminum in Asia (excluding China) was 304,000 tons; the output of primary aluminum in South America was 96,000 tons, and the output of primary aluminum in Africa was 132,000 tons.

In September, the global alumina production (including metallurgical and chemical grades) was 11.17 million tons, a decrease of 4.33% from the previous month. In the same period last year, the output of alumina was 10.813 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 3.3%. In the third quarter, global alumina production totaled 34.514 million tons, and August output was 35.45 million tons, down 2.6% from the previous month. The output in the same period last year was 33.412 million tons, up 3.3% year-on-year. Among them, China’s alumina output in September was 6.184 million tons, and the total alumina output in the third quarter was 18.854 million tons. The total alumina output in the first three quarters was 96.574 million tons.

Brazil’s alumina export volume increased by 85% in October. According to the Brazilian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Brazil’s alumina export volume in October increased by 84.7% year-on-year, mainly due to the increase in shipments from alerts refineries and alumni refineries.
