Heat resistance Felt Belt
Of all the demands placed on conveyor belts, heat is usually the most ruthless and destructive.
The high-temperature environment will accelerate the aging process, which will lead to the hardening and cracking of low-quality conveyor belts. The heat also has a seriously harmful effect on the aluminum itself, because it destroys the adhesion between the cover fabric layers.
This causes the felt belts to fall apart. This is commonly referred to as “layering”. Some rubber conveyor belts become harder and less elastic when exposed to high temperatures, and their tensile strength and elongation at break may drop by as much as 80%.
This effectively destroys its operational strength and flexibility. At the same time, wear resistance can be reduced by as much as 40% or more. So we choose a felt belt, as shown in the reference guide below,
Foshan Pure Technology Felt Reference Guide
Up to 180°C
Polyester felt belt is a high-performance heat-resistant and abrasion-resistant needle punch, designed to transport aluminum profiles at continuous temperatures up to 180°C and peak temperatures up to 180°C.
Felt belts with high heat resistance traditionally have lower abrasion resistance. Pure technical felt belts are an exception because they have the excellent abrasion resistance and even exceed the DIN X international standard for pure wear-resistant belts.
The 180-degree felt belt is used in the textile industry as a thermal transfer felt belt.
Up to 280°C
Pure technology felt belts are recommended for more extreme temperatures under demanding heavy-duty service conditions to transport high-temperature abrasives. The Nomex seamless felt belt is specially designed to withstand the highest continuous temperature of conveying materials up to 280°C and extreme peak temperature up to 280°C.
Pure felt belts exceed the highest requirements of category 3 and are therefore actually category 4, although this category does not yet exist in the ISO 4195 classification.
Although exposure to high temperatures usually results in a significant decrease in abrasion resistance, ISO laboratory tests have shown that even if exposed to a high temperature of 150° for 7 days, the Pure felt belt retains its original (pre-test) abrasion resistance.
