How we make Nomex ironer padding

Nomex fibre
We use 100% Nomex meta-aramid fibre.
It holds its strength at ironer temperatures and does not melt or drip.
The flame resistance is in the fibre itself, so it does not wash out or wear off.

Carding
Carding opens the fibre and combs out impurities and short lint.
We control temperature and humidity so the web stays even.
An even web is what keeps the finished felt the same thickness from edge to edge.

Web laying and needling
The web is cross-laid to 800 g/m².
Needle punching locks it into padding 3mm or 5mm thick.
The padding holds the linen against the chest, so an even weight matters.

Surface finish
The face is kept smooth and even across the width.
That is the side the linen runs against.
A smooth face keeps the shrinkage even from edge to edge.

Cutting
Padding is cut to 3.3m, 3.6m or 3.8m wide, or to your roll.
Length is made to order.
If your ironer is another width, tell us and we cut to it.

Needle check
Every finished piece passes through a metal detector.
No broken needle leaves the factory inside the felt.
A broken needle tip left in the felt would mark your rollers or your product.

QC staff check the raw fibre and every production step.
Certificates are on file and we can send copies with your quote.
If you need a test report with an order, ask for it before production starts.
