Spacer bars keep profiles apart in the frame. Bare bars mark the surface.
These covers are sewn from thin 100% Nomex felt and slide over the spacer bar.
In the furnace the cover shrinks tight around the bar and sits flat against the profile.

The cover shrinks around the bar with the heat, so it stays put against the profile.

Nomex runs at 260°C. A typical ageing furnace runs at 210±5°C.

How we make Nomex spacer bar covers
01
Nomex fibre
We use 100% Nomex meta-aramid fibre.
It holds its strength at 260°C and does not melt or drip.
The flame resistance is in the fibre itself, so it does not wash out or wear off.

Carding
Carding opens the fibre and combs out impurities and short lint.
We control temperature and humidity so the web stays even.
An even web is what keeps the finished felt the same thickness from edge to edge.

Web laying and needling
The web is cross-laid into a thin layer.
Needle punching turns it into 1.6mm or 2.0mm felt.
A thin, even layer is what lets the cover slide onto the bar.

Sewing
Covers are sewn with a single stitch, a double stitch or an overlock.
Each end is left open or closed, as you ask.
The stitch you pick depends on how often the covers come off for cleaning.

Cutting to size
Felt is cut to 650–1500mm long.
The circumference is set from 60mm to 150mm to fit your bar.
Send the bar length and diameter and we make the covers to them.

Needle check
Every finished piece passes through a metal detector.
No broken needle leaves the factory inside the felt.
A broken needle tip left in the felt would mark your rollers or your product.

QC staff check the raw fibre and every production step.
Certificates are on file and we can send copies with your quote.
If you need a test report with an order, ask for it before production starts.
